| I was surfing youtube and it crossed my mind to listen to Whitney Houston's songs. As I was watching her videos, two strong words came to my mind: impressive and poignant. She was and will be the best of all female vocalist in pop history. As Randy Jackson (American Idol judge) say it so clearly: "During her prime, Whitney Houston is one of the best (if not the best) singers in the known world." Her songs are so powerful and she is one of the best interpretative singers that I've seen. It just saddens me that family problems (marriage in particular) and drugs are just so merciless and potent in ruining such a voice and a career. But I heard that Whitney's back...and that's great news. Without her, music wouldn't be this exciting. And I really think that no one...can come even close to her level. Not in the near future.

| Yesterday, I watched the Fantastic Four in Megamall alone. I don't feel sorry or lonely na wala akong kasama. Some people will tell you "Kawawa ka naman wala kasama." I will just laugh at them. I don't see why people pity those who watch movies, eat outside, shop or go to the barbershop on their own. I have to say these people are mature enough to be alone. Why would you pity a mature person???
And about Father's Day, I had a dream. It was in my afternoon nap. I never before considered that someday I will adopt a child because I want to raise my biological children. But that Father's Day, I dreamt that I adopted a little girl (she's 6) and she's very adorable. I am single, no fiance or wife or girlfriend, and yet I'm a father. The adoption thing felt really good. I said to people in my dreams that when I first saw the girl, I knew God wants me to adopt her. (Coz she's an orphan by the way). And I even won this award for dads ( I forgot what it is called). Anyway, I enjoyed being a dad in that dream. I taught her tennis and we have this unique handshake. And since I'm still young to be a father, I was like a big brother/father to her. I can't remember her name though (and face!).
Anyway, the dream gave me second thoughts about my convictions on adapting. In that dream, I loved the girl like she was my biological child. And take note: it was hours after the dream that I realized that it was Father's Day. I don't really make a great deal out of this day (or Mom's Day).

| Chorva - churva - chorba - ??? I don't know the exact spelling of this word but this thing is getting popular these days. It is used to replace a word that you wish to say but just can't find the right combination of letters so you say "chorva". I used to cringe when I hear this word coz it sounds so gay (which I assume is the origin) but as the days move on, it starts to fascinate me. Nyahahaha! I still don't use it but it no longer bothers me either. | | |
| I've always thought that Bryan Adams is the best modern rock star. I'm not a very big fan of rock music but when it is him or Bon Jovi who sings, rock music just gets elevated to a higher level. "Everything I Do" (I'm listening to it now) is the no.1 rock song in the Billboards hitlist. It topped the charts 10 weeks (or 12 weeks) in the early 90s - the best performance from any rock song. "An amazingly beautiful song, only Bryan Adams can write stuff like this. Dig the wailing guitar !!" - this is a comment in YouTube by hialeahoochie. Whoever he/she is, I agree with this person! Only Bryan Adams can write songs as beautiful and emotonally gripping as "Everything I Do." Same is true with his other maginificent songs - Heaven, All for Love, Please Forgive Me, Straight From the Heart, When You Love Someone, Cuts Like a Knife, etc... | | |
| I was surfing YouTube and it occured to me to check out the American Idol champions videos. I enjoyed Carrie's a lot (I think she's the finest champ from AI) then I came across Taylor Hicks' (AI Season 5 champ) video tribute to the US Armed Forces in Iraq, entitled "Do I Make You Proud?" As I played the video repeatedly and reread its lyrics, I came to think of dedicating, or rather asking, that song to God. "Lord, do I make you proud?" Are the things in my life making God smile? Are my thoughts, actions and desires make the Most High beam with pleasure? Do I make God proud? I guess after that notion occured to me, I might not be able to experience this song the same ordinary way again. This is the YouTube link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O-yohHK25g And this is the lyrics - http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/taylorhicks/doimakeyouproud.html | | |
